FAQ
1). What is uBid.com.my?
Welcome to uBid.com.my! Here, everybody can bid for their favorite’s gadgets and products at very attractive and affordable price. Every day we list and sell brand new top-name products like Apple iPhone, Sharp LED TVs and Asus Eee PC at incredibly low prices in biddings that start at just 1 cent with no reserve.
Here's how it works:
-
A bid is raised by one cent at a time and all bid start at RM0.00.
-
Register yourself and buy some bids. Bids cost start from RM1.45 to RM2.00 each and are sold in packs of 10, 25, 50, 100, 300, and 500. Buying more bids will help you enjoy more saving.
-
Place your bid on your targeted products then each bid you placed will increase by RM0.01.
- There is a countdown time in every product bidding and they range from 15 sec – 2 minutes (depending on auction). The timer will reset if there’s a new bid has been made. When the timer reaches zero and no new bid is placed by any bidder, the bidding will closed and the last bidder will wins the right to buy the product at the current price.

7). Can I bid for the same product more than once?
Definitely! There is no limit to how many bids that are submitted on the same product.
8). What is “Bidky”? How does it work?
One of uBid's functionalities is a so called “Bidky”, an automated bid assistant. It bids automatically for you when you are unavailable to observe the uBid auctions in person. Only registered users can use the “Bidky” tool.
“Bidky” is a very simple tool to use:
-
Login to your account
-
Click on the blue "Bidky" button in your member controls
-
Click on the green "Start Auto Bid" button
-
Select the product that you want to place the “Bidky” on
-
Place the maximum number of bids you want to use and submit
- To remove a “Bidky”, simply click at the red “Stop Auto Bid” button. You can use ‘Bidky’ when you don’t have the time to follow the auction live all the time but still don’t want to waste your chance to win the item.
You can set ‘Bidky’ to make a bid for you some seconds before the countdown ends to increase your chance of winning. You can adjust all settings as you please – set item price floor and price ceiling within which you want ‘Bidky’ to make bids for you. Also, set the maximum number of bids that you are willing to make for the auction. ‘Bidky’ settings can be changed as you wish at any time you want.
For an upcoming auction ‘Bidky’ can be activated at any time before the auction starts. For a live ongoing auction ‘Bidky’ can be activated within the latest 5 seconds before countdown reaches zero. If you wish to make a bid within the last 5 seconds of the countdown you need to place it manually (i.e. without ‘Bidky’ function). *Please be attentive that when you are buying new bids, your ‘Bidky’ settings will not change. If you want to extend ‘Bidky’ with newly bought bids, you also need to refresh your set ‘Bidky’ bids.
9). Can I bid for many products at the same time?
Yes, there are no such limitations….as long as you have the bids in your account.
10). Can I increase the bid by more than one cent?
In order to keep prices attractive, we only allow one cent increases.
11). Is bidding 24 hours?
uBid.com.my will at times have night auctions that run through the night, 24hrs. This is for those users that would like bid on exciting auctions during the night. Stay Tune on uBid.com.my to check out the latest nights auctions. They sometimes come on a short notice!
Auctions running into the early morning will be paused for a short time, usually about 15 minutes, while server backups are done. These are usually scheduled for 5:30AM or 6:30AM
12). What are auction hours? What happens if I am the last bidder at the end of the day?
Auctions are only live during our operation time which is from 10 a.m – 12 a.m (except for those items which have 24 hours auction time). Outside of this timeframe the auction will be paused: the auction clock will not count down, and no new bids can be placed. Only at the appropriate time the next day the auction will resume and people may continue to bid. The last bidder will be listed as the highest bidder throughout the night, but anyone may place a counterbid in the morning when the auction resumes.
13). I just won an auction! What’s next?
Congratulations on your win!!
uBid.com.my will send a message to your mailbox and do click the link in the mail to claim your won item. The auction end price and delivery costs will be paid for by the winner. The auction end price is the price you pay for the item won on that auction. The retail price is the price the manufacturer’s suggested price.
Please remember that you have 3 days to pay for your won auction or else the item will be removed from your account.
Once payment successful, our product delivery team will contact you to confirm the shipping address. Once confirm, they will prepare and ship the item(s) to you. Currently, KTM & CITILINK are our products shipper. Do allow 1-2 weeks delivery period. As for the free bids won, we will send you the activation code via mail and once you received the letter, please check the activation code and send us the code back at support@ubid.com.my to claim the free bids. Please also be reminded that if you send in the picture with your won item(s), you will entitle for a 20 free bids credited to your account. More questions? Please contact us at support@ubid.com.my.
14). Why does the auction timer show “Waiting” just before closing or resetting?
It is in uBid.com.my’s interest (as well as in all Bidky’ interest) to make sure that every auction is closed securely and accurately. As the timer reaches zero the technical platform, on which uBid.com.my runs, sends the server a request to make sure that no other bids have been received. During this time the user sees “Waiting” instead of the auction timer. The duration, for which the user sees “Waiting” on his/her screen, is dependent on the user’s CPU and the internet connection.
15). How do I purchase bids?
You can purchase bids in packages using a credit card, pay-pal, e-payment or bank transfer. We use iPay88.com.my and Netbuilder.com.my for the secure processing of all payments. You will be notified by email if there will be any delays in the shipping of your item. Should you not have received your item with 2 weeks time, please contact support@uBid.com.my.
18). What is the cost of delivery?
The winner of the product pays for the shipping and handling fees. For specific costs please refer to the red 'More Info' tab next to each product or click on the photo of the auction item.
19). Is it ok to give or sell an item I won to someone else?
Once you have received an item you are welcome to do with it as you please. However, you should open and inspect it immediately before or after delivery for damaged, defective or incorrect items. Failure to notify uBid of a problem with your item within 5 days of signing for it constitutes acceptance of the item as it is.
20). The item I won and received is broken. What do I do?
If an item is not working, it can sometimes be useful to check the manufacturer’s website or call their helpline for assistance. Many of the most common problems are easily solved without having to return the product. For damaged items, please contact us at support@uBid.com.my within 3 days upon receiving. We work with different suppliers who are happy to help identify any problems and to replace faulty items, if necessary.
Important: Please don’t return the item without first contacting us – this will likely delay the time it takes to replace your item if it is damaged.
21). Is there a guarantee on auctioned products?
All our products are sourced from reliable supplier and come with original manufacturer warranty. Purchased items are subject to the manufactures warranty and should be handled through the manufacturer. The warranty period is depending on manufacturer definition.
22). Can I get a refund on an item I have won?
Yes as long as it is within 7 days of delivery. However, the item must be in its original packaging and must not be damaged.

23). What I should not do on uBid?
Do not start bidding without having read the responsible bidding guide. It is very important to have a bidding budget and to follow it systematically.
Be careful when using the Auto-bid function. Plan and execute the auto bidding strategy with care.
24). Auction limits
A user can win a maximum of 2 products a day and 12 products per 30 day rolling period.
Example: Should a user win 12 products in a 25 day period, he cannot bid for the 5 next days. Once the 30 day rolling window (observation period) has elapsed the user is allowed to bid again.
